Problems with Redmine attachments solved

After the server upgrade last week, Redmine changed the path it looked for attachments, thus stopped serving old attachments. They're not deleted or lost. The path is now fixed and all attachments are available again.

Server Upgrade Completed

Upgrading the project server has been completed yesterday night, 1a.m.

Unfortunately, Java/Tomcat raised problems as it often does, thus we had to stick to Tomcat 6 and Sun Java 6. That's the reason why the updated lasted the whole day - sorry for inconveniences with other services.

By now, everything I could reach is tested. Should other problems appear, feel free to write a Mail or a Ticket, as usual.

And again, the new version numbers:

  • tomcat 6 STAYS 6
  • redmine 1.0->1.4
  • mercurial 1.6->2.2
  • php 5.3->5.4
  • python 2.6->2.7
  • perl 5.10->5.14
  • git 1.7.2->1.7.10
  • svn 1.6.12->1.6.17
  • trac 0.12.2 -> 0.12.3

DB Server Upgrade Completed

Upgrading the server has just been completed. It's now running the brand new Debian 7 (wheezy), therefore we now provide MySQL 5.5 instead of MySQL 5.1.

PostgreSQL remains at version 9.0, because an upgrade would have a significant impact on existing databases. The version iteration on MySQL should not cause any problems, but you can still report per Mail or Ticket.

Note: The upgrade took over 2 hours because the package system of the super stable debian system were broken, sorry :)

Server Upgrade

Next sunday the 12th may, the database server will be upgraded to the latest Debian version. During this procedure, the databases and all related services (Redmine, web interface, gitweb) won't be available. The outage will be kept as shortly as possible.

You'll get a brand new MySQL 5.5 instead of the old 5.1.

In the unlikely case of a failure and restoring a backup, all data until sunday, 2 a.m. will be included.

The studi server will follow in a few weeks.

Half-yearly deactivation of all projects.

In the context of the half-yearly process for sorting out projects not being used anymore, all repositories, their project management environments and all webapps have been deactivated and are not useable any more.

They can be reactivated at any time by clicking on the corresponding button in the details of the repository/projectmanagement/webapp in question. Only such that are longer inactive than two years may get deleted by the administrators for cleaning up disk space at any time.

Never fear! For at least these two years your data is safe. The exact time is shown as a countdown in the repositories/etc. details and is mentioned in the services description.

Small Maintenance

Tonight, beginning at 10 p.m. there will be a small maintenance going on at the server studi.f4 alias projekte.f4. There should be no problems, but some 403 Forbidden errors could be raised. This is not a problem, just repeat your request.
